What is Experiential Learning?
To put it simply, it means 'Learning By Doing'.
What should I expect out of the DRAKE ELA CAMP?

Effect my self-esteem
What does the DRAKE ELA CAMP expect of me?
The camp expects me to be
Diligent and willing to bear responsibilities

Eager to lead, participate and share experiences with others
How can I achieve all the DRAKE ELA CAMP objectives?

Analyse and journalise what I have learnt each day
Knit all the activities to make a tapestry of digital images
Evaluate what I have learnt and share them with my family

If any of the above activity cannot be engaged due to unforseen circumstances, a substitute activity will be provided.
What is the Equipped For Life Workshop all about?
You will sharpen your learning abilities through your participation in four related experiential learning activities. They include the following
• Peak Challenge Team Activity
• Jenga Chaos & Jenga Team Game
• Trust Games
• Jump Rope Challenge
You will absolutely enjoy using your intelligence and the group dynamics to help you emerge as an independent learner.
Where do I sleep, eat and shower?
You will relish your camp experiences in the purpose-built NSW Sport and Recreation Centre at Jindabyne, the base camp for your Snowy Mountains Adventure. In addition to the food catered at the Centre, you will learn how to cook simple but delicious meals to impress your parents and friends when you get home.
Will I be the same person after the DRAKE ELA CAMP?
What do you think? Absolutely not! You will be a confident and independent learner, the most important attribute for personal success. We trust you will begin to live life with a passion and purpose. You will begin to see your school work in a new light and appreciate your parents more!!! Most importantly, as a DRAKE ELA CAMP GRADUATE, you can hold your head high and say I know what experiential learning is all about. It is 'Learning By Doing'. Let that be your life motto!
Can my parents visit me at the Camp?
Definitely! Your parents can choose to stay at a nearby hotel (Lake Jindabyne Hotel or Novotel Crackenback Resort) and visit you every day from 6-7 pm. Please email Mrs Rosalind Drake for more information.
